R C Manubhai & Company Limited wasestablished in 1960.

This was when the family initially startedtrading as a small grocery shop. The store was run by Dayabhai and Raojibhai inthe rural district of Korovuto, Ba (trading as DV Patel & Sons). Some yearslater the family moved the business to town and seeing a market demand theydecided to change from the grocery business to hardware and thus RC Manubhai& Co started with the sons now involved in the business. The originalgeneration running the store included Raojibhai, Manubhai, Ramanbhai,Chandrakant Bhai and Jayantibhai.

Now 40 years later, the company is one ofthe major players in the hardware trade, with outlets around the country -Suva,Tavua, Rakiraki, Nadi and Valelevu. It is one of the leading Hardware andBuilding Material dealers in Fiji. The company is also the largest importersand stockist of Structural Steel, Special Steels, Industrial Valve, Pipes andFittings, Bronze Solid Bars and Bushings.

Over the years, the company has beensuppliers to various major contracts and clientele in Fiji.

TheSuva outlet, which is the group's biggest investment to-date, cost around F$1.5million and commenced trading in 1993. It is one of the most modern HardwareRetail outlets in Fiji with a floor space of 15,000 sq.feet. 2003 was our 10thanniversary and we spent F$500,000 to upgrade the store to the Australian andNew Zealand Standards. The head office of the company is still based in Ba.Thecompany's export department has grown strongly and enjoys good export sales toKiribati, Tonga, Tuvalu, Samoa, Vila, Tahiti and Solomon Islands. Furtherexport sales are also contemplated to New Caledonia and more importantly, PapuaNew Guinea.

The name MANUBHAI is not new in the Fijimarket. Established some decades ago, it is one of the pioneers in the hardwareand building materials trade and is well known in all corners of Fiji. Ourtarget is to ensure that the MANUBHAI flag flies high in the whole of SouthPacific region and to keep true to the Slogan "The Most Trusted Name inHardware".

The company's imports are sourced from allover the world with special emphasis given to quality products from reputablesuppliers. Most of the imports are warehoused in Ba in the company's majorwarehousing and storage facilities. The manufacturing operations are also basedin Ba.

CRP INDUSTRIES LTD -Manufacturers of Reinforcing and Security Mesh. Started in 1992. CRP is theonly manufacture of Steel Wire mesh in Fiji.

ROOFING AND PROFILES (FIJI) LTD- Manufactures of Roofing Products. Started 2002 and are manufacturingCorrudek®(Corrugated), Superdek ®(Trimdek®) and Steel Purlins from 100-250mmand all types of accessories.

For many decades duty-free shopping was ahuge attraction for tourists visiting Fiji but Jekishan Khatri, or Jack as hewas fondly referred to by his friends and the Nadi community believed thattourists also wanted to take memories home. So, in 1969 he established Jack’sHandicrafts and from small beginnings as a small retail store in an obscurecorner of Nadi, Jack’s would become a world class organisation with farreaching business interests in the retail, distribution, export, manufacturing,horticulture and food and beverage sectors.

As tourism developed, with many significantresorts constructed, tourism numbers surpassing 500,000 and now with tourismset to become a billion dollar industry in Fiji, Jack’s continued to remain atthe forefront of the development, strategically locating itself to capitaliseon the growth and expansion of the nation and intelligently diversifying asbusiness opportunities arose. Jack’s of Fiji comprises of Jack’s RetailLimited, Jack’s Restaurants Limited, Jack’s Manufacturing Limited and Jack’sGarments Limited. Commenced operations in 1969 with only two employees, thegroup now has 770 employees.

Jack’s Retail commenced operations in 1969and now operates five departmental stores in Nadi, Suva, Sigatoka, Nausori andLautoka and a number of tourist stores at resorts throughout Fiji. The departmentalstores incorporate Jack’s Handicrafts, Jack’s Fashion, Jack’s Little India,Jack’s Jewels and Katchi Kids. Jack’s Distribution caters for local and exportcustomers.

Jack’s Manufacturing started in 1992 wasinitially set up to design and produce unique handicrafts, tapa and woodproducts. Today it also manufactures custom built furniture, joinery and shopfittings. Having diversified into the construction industry Jack’sManufacturing also offers full time engineering services, including fabrication,welding and steel machining.

Jack’s Garments was set-up in 1989 designsand produces quality garments, fashion-wear for men, women and children andsurf wear, for local and export markets. Brand names contributing to Fiji’sintroduction to global markets include Tribal Surfer, Firstribe, SAC, KatchiKids, Crazy Jacks, Jackie K, Kei Veikau, IsoKula, QaQa, Seniua, Big Jack andJack Man.

Jack’s Restaurant operates since 1993 andhas four eateries including the world class and multiple awards winning five-starfine dining Chefs Restaurant in Nadi, the Saffron Tandoori Restaurant in Nadi,The Corner also in Nadi and the Seafront Restaurant at the Trendwest Resort atDenarau Island. Jacks have also opened the Indigo Restaurant on Denarau and ownthe Hard Rock Café franchise in Fiji.

CHALLENGE ENGINEERING LIMITED

Challenge Engineering Group Limited is acorporate entity with diversified business interests including extensive realestate property investments for commercial, industrial and apartments invarious key business districts of Fiji.

The CEL Group also owns Automart Limited,one of the pioneers of the second hand car industry in Fiji and has sincebecome the largest second- hand motor vehicle dealer. Automart currently hasfive outlets Fiji wide. Suresh Patel founded the business and continues tomanage it today.

Another business arm involves Mobile CraneHire Services, a heavy machinery hire and pile driving contractors while theGroup also operates a printing press business.

The entire CEL Group is headed by ManagingDirector Suresh Patel and directors are Hasmukh Patel and Vidya Patel.

CANDLEI NVESTMENTS LIMITED

Candle Investments Limited is a corporateentity with business interests mainly in real estate property investments forcommercial/residential in various key business districts of Fiji. The Companyis owned by the Parshotam family who are also well known legal practitioners inFiji and Auckland.

Amongst the property portfolio is the MidCity Plaza, a multi-million dollar retail shopping complex with very upmarketand modern outfit located in the heart of Suva City. The directors are SatishParshotam and Subhas Parshotam who are also both partners in the legal firmParshotam & Co.
